This folk tale from Taiwan teaches a very important lesson about treating others fairly. An elderly man visits a bustling market daily carrying a basket of pies to sell, but he always leaves with no pies or money.
As the locals take advantage of him, a small boy watches from the shadows, then finally steps forward and does what is right; little did he know what the elderly man really had planned for him!
After listening to the story consider these questions and activities:
Have you ever been treated unfairly? How did it make you feel?
If somebody offers you something but it is unfair to take it what should you do?
Put on your coat and wellies and head outdoors to make mud pies!
