The story is told by Danny English.
The Wind and The Sun is one of Aesops Fables, a story that has been told for many years to help share an important message.
In the story the boastful wind challenges the sun to decide who is 'the strongest of all weathers'. Although the wind tries with all his strength and force the sun has another way of creating change.
After watching the story consider discussing these following questions:
In the story the wind tries really hard to make the man remove his jacket but the opposite thing happens. Have you ever had an experience where you have tried with all your energy but couldn't achieve what you hoped for? If so, why might that have been, could you have done something differently?
In the story the wind is very boastful but the sun remains kind and calm. Do you think it is easier to be forceful and boastful or calm and kind? Why?
The sun views the winds challenge as a way of practising kindness- can you think of a time when you were presented with an opportunity to be kind to others. Are these opportunities easy to notice? Is there ever a time when we shouldn't respond with kindness?
