This story is written and told by Danny English.
Many many years ago the world had only one type of tree, the pine and people lived in small mud huts built into rolling hillsides.
One day though a very very very old man from the tribe called out to the wind asking for beauty and strength, little did he know his words would land in the ear of a wizard and the world would be changed forever.
After listening to this story consider the following questions:
1). In the story the people live in Jabberjarome a scattering of mud huts with no electricity, cars or roads. The only thing to do was play out in the fields and forests, how would you feel about spending a month living there?
2). The old old old man calls out and asks for 'eternal beauty and strength' do you think that was a good wish? Could he have asked for anything else?
3). In the end all of the old people are turned into trees, was this a happy ending or not?
4). If you could be any tree which type would you be?
