The Long Winter Story is an old folk tale that can be traced back to many different sources.
Did you know that in the UK it's more likely to snow at Easter than at Christmas, sometimes winter can seem very long but imagine if winter had gone on for three whole years.
In this story the animals of the forest agree that they need to find and retrieve Heat that has been missing for three years. Their quest takes them through a hole in the sky where the discover three bear cubs guarding four sacks?
Find out what's in the sacks and if they ever find heat and break the long winter.
After listening to the story consider the following questions:
Do you have a favourite season and why?
The bears were collecting items in their four sacks, considering what was in each of the sacks why might they have been collecting those particular things?
The animals of the forest work together to bring heat back to the world, Alone they couldn't have accomplished their task. Can you think a time when you've worked together with others to achieve something that you couldn't have done alone?
