This story is an adaptation from a story written in the book Golden Rules by Wayne Dosick.
Have you ever had one of those days when nothing goes right for you? You can feel like the world is against you and that all your luck has drained away.. That is the way the young rabbit felt before he set off on an adventure to ask for good fortune from the Great Spirit.
He meets three friends on the way who are all also looking for their own good fortune too but little do they know that it might be closer than they think.
After listening to the story consider the following questions:
1- At the start of the story the rabbit feels very miserable, like the world is against him.He decided to go on an adventure and ask for help Have you ever felt like that? Do you think that going on an adventure and asking others for help would make you feel better?
2- Once the rabbit was granted good fortune by the great spirit he wasn't able to see it because he was too busy rushing around- if he had just stopped for a moment he may have recognised the good fortune. Stopping and taking notice of the things around us is really important for our wellbeing, try doing the Daily Pause resource with your family.
3- The great spirit ends by explaining how good fortune is all around us if we have our eyes open to see it and a grateful heart to accept it. When you go on your next family adventure notice all of the good fortune around you and all the things you are grateful for.
