Have you ever made the mistake of judging somebody or something before you fully understand it?
Maybe that tatty old plum tree has the sweetest fruit, or maybe your Gran or Grandad, who can't use a smartphone have so many vital lessons to teach?
How the Beetles got their gorgeous coat is a story from Brazil that teaches us to refrain from judging and instead find the time to really get to know each other.
Questions to consider after watching:
1) Can you think of a time when you may have judged somebody or something before really getting to know more? Why do we do that? Where do those judgements come from?
2) Have you ever been judged by others because of your appearance? How does that feel?
3) Do you have any 'hidden talents' that others don't know about you?
4) In the story the rat was very boastful and didnt take any time to get to know the beetle, can you think of two questions the rat could have asked the beetle to get to know it better?
Always remember that judging others before we know them takes away the chance of really understanding their unique brilliance.
