Despite summer often being sunny - it isn't always possible to be at the beach! There are always days where you might just need to make do with a lovely grassy or dirt patch. Here's a fun nature based art work you can do with your family with very few materials. Suitable for all to participate, we show you how to get started on creating flour shape art together, by creating a butterfly - but remember you can always create other shapes too.
Always wash your hands once you are complete & before food after handling plants & dirt.
Items Required:
Flour - you don't require a great deal, you can use whatever you have in your cupboard
Hands - these can help you create the shapes you would like but you can always use other objects and items like leaves/sticks/flowers for natural ones, or toys and other things too.
Seive - Actually this can also be 'optional' if you are confident scattering the flour carefully - younger children work tends to work better with a sieve. Optional:
Stick Frame - these are to create an outline with around your image to frame it which can make the picture look quite lovely but are not essential.
Other Natural Items - If you want to and have other natural items around you eg flowers/leaves/twigs etc you can use these too to decorate your butterfly shape or whichever shape you have chosen to create.

This butterfly flour art sounds like such a fun and creative way to spend time outdoors with the family! I love how simple it is—just using flour and natural items to make something beautiful together. It’s also a great way to get everyone out for a walk to gather materials, which adds an extra layer of adventure. If you're into hands-on activities like this, you might also enjoy something like a perfume making kit as another way to get creative with natural elements. Both activities can be a fun mix of nature and crafting!
