When we think of autumn images of golden leaves, frosty ground, conkers and mushrooms come to mind. Autumn is also a time to celebrate Halloween and nothing is more synonymous with Halloween than witches.
In this video we guide you through the process of making your own witches broom and introduce you to some of the traditional materials that may have been used.
Some people say they spotted a ghost in the video...watch to the end and see if you can spot it too!!
This activity is great for boosting your families wellbeing because:
1- Get active- head out on a walk into the woods to find your materials.
2- Keep Learning- Witches used oak, ash and silver birch to make their brooms- learn how to identify these trees.
3- Be Mindful- While walking in the woods notice all the changes happening around you- see how falling leaves break from the tree and dance to their way to the ground.
4- Think Community- make a display in your window at home to bring a smile to the faces of your neighbours.
5- Practice Kindness- Can you make two brooms and gift one to a neighbour or relative?
