In this resource, we introduce you to a favourite activity that we often start in the spring but continue through to the end of autumn
.What's on your patch is a great way to connect with nature from right outside your own front door. Your patch can be anywhere local; a garden, park, woodland or even your own street; it just has to be somewhere you can visit regularly and notice the changes that are occurring.
This activity is not only great fun but its also good for your wellbeing because:
1.Get Active- Keep healthy by heading outdoors and looking for all the changes in your area.
2.Think Community- Along with looking consider planting some bulbs for next year to brighten up the area for you and your neighbours.
3.Be Mindful- Noticing changes in nature is a great way to 'notice' & be mindful of everything happening around us. It helps us realise that nothing is permanent and everything is in constant flux.
4. Practise Kindness-Can you create some habitats to welcome other species on to your patch.
5. Keep Learning- Every new species is an opportunity to learn. Research the items you find and learn more about them.
