Air is one of natures essential elements, it's all around us, we rely on it for our survival but we can't see it, this often means we take it for granted without fully understanding it.
In this nature activity we do three fun experiments that help us understand more about air whilst also giving us some fun party tricks to share with friends and family.
Some interesting facts about air:
Air is a really important element of nature- air is Earths atmosphere and is made up if many gases.
Air has no colour and no smell but it does have mass and weight.
Animals (including us) need oxygen to survive- air is made up of 21% oxygen.
Air can become polluted by some gases that are not good for animals- when this happens people can be come poorly and need medical attention
Keeping the air clean is really important for the health of all species on the planet- things like factories, cars, aeroplanes and boats can create gases that reduce the air quality, that's why we should do our best to walk and cycle to move around and try to stay local whenever possible.
