Autumn is one of our favourite times to cook on the campfire and with an abundance of apples available we love to make baked apples.
In this short film we teach you how to use a few simple ingredients to make a really tasty campfire snack.
Ingredients:
Apples
Oats
Cinnamon
Raisins
Margarine (or butter)
Sugar
Along with being great fun this activity also provides a boost to your wellbeing:
1- Get Active- campfire are great fun and require you to be in the great outdoors. Take a walk to gather materials, small sticks (preferably dead ones hanging in trees) and of course apples.
2- Keep Learning- There is so much we can learn about in this activity. Sorting and preparing your ingredients is going to require some skills in measuring and of course building a fire may also introduce you to some new skills.
3- Be Mindful- We really enjoyed notice the shapes of the seeds when we cut into the apple and studying it's structure. Fire gazing is also a lovely activity to help stimulate mindfulness.
4- Practice Kindness- practice kindness t nature by leaving no trace with your campfire.
5- Think Community- This is a lovely activity to do as a community group and celebrate the apple harvest.
