Before you begin this session please read and listen to our Introduction to Yoga with We Be Kids.
Having recently just had the Spring Equinox many traditional sources say that now comes the time to plant our vegetables outdoors, so today we move our bodies to plant imaginary carrots, broccoli, peas & potatoes through yoga. Even if you don't have a garden at home you can still plant many herbs & smaller vegetables indoors on windowsills or in pots & grow bags. There is truly something wonderful in planting a seed, waiting & watching it grow & then being able to eat the produce too. Happy planting season!

Whilst using this yoga resource to inspire learning, know you are helping you and your family's wellbeing:
1) Get Active - yoga may not be running a marathon but regular practice will reap many benefits to the physical and mental bodies. We aim to engage all of your body as you move through different postures. This session also works the core and thigh muscles.
2) Keep Learning - Each session provides you with a number of postures to practice over time until you will have built a library of postures and feel confident with yoga. This session also teaches you the basic process to planting your vegetables, which might be useful if you are hoping to start growing some.
3) Be Mindful - Take the opportunity throughout this practice simply to notice how you are breathing. Take note at the start and at the end of physical movement and finally after the relaxation. Aim not to judge - simply notice.
4) Practice Kindness- Remember to thank your body every time that you practice yoga. Yoga ability is usually built up over time and practiced with a keen inner ear listening to our bodies every single time, however yoga can also be riddled with 'wanting' to make the 'pose' or as it is often considered - a shape. Yoga aims to encourage movements that may be unfamiliar to some so be sure to listen keenly to how your body is feeling and practice with kindness. Yoga should never hurt. Look after yourself, take it slowly or at your own pace, you decide - there is only one of you.
5) Think Community - Practice this session with your community at home and spread the word online.
